We were up fairly early and had coffee and toast
watching the scenery again. Later we drove into Liskeard for lunch at the White Hart,
we were served a lovely lunch up in the
terraced garden of fresh salmon, prawns, salad and baguettes. The
owners have recently moved here ,judging by the food and friendly atmosphere
they should do very well. It is a pretty patio garden, a real little
suntrap.
After a walk around Liskeard we caught the train to Looe, very touristy but the Banjo Pier area is
very nice with lovely silver sand and the sea is very blue. We went for a
paddle, then had a walk around the shops by the harbour. We caught the train back to the car
and drove back to Tavistock.
In Tavistock we stopped for dinner at Christophers restaurant.
This place is worth trying if you are in the area, lovely
food, my steak was perfect, and the wine second time around was pretty good
too. The waitress was very helpful and insisted on changing the wine as
although there was nothing wrong with it I didn't like it at all. So full
marks for service too.
By 9pm we were perched on our hilltop again and spent the
rest of the evening with a bottle of wine, just watching the scenery
changing.
